It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1
Takeaway
Christ did not die to make you a better slave. He died to break your chains entirely. Freedom is not a feeling or a phase—it is the permanent legal reality of your life in him. When the old master—whether addiction, shame, people-pleasing, or fear—comes knocking with the lie that you belong to him still, you can say with absolute certainty: I've been bought. I've been set free. I will not go back.
Application
Name one yoke you're still wearing—one burden, one habit, one voice telling you that you don't belong to Christ anymore. Write it down. Then sit with this truth: Christ paid the price to free you from it. Tell him you're laying it down today, and when it calls you back (and it will), remember: you are not a slave anymore.
